update

this week i had my first ultrasound...at first it wasn't that bad. and then the baby was too small to see with the traditional kind so they chose another way to do it. let's just say it was not that much fun, and the next time we have a kid we are waiting a few months to have an ultrasound. other than that the experience was kind of surreal. we were able to hear the heart beat, and see that the baby was about the size of a bean. the heart beat was very clear, and was beating about 160 times a minute. at another doctor's appointment we went over the test results from the last one. everything was fine except my results from the glucose test. the normal results are in the 70-130 range. i was at 59. she said that i just have to eat more often, which surprises me because i already feel like i am eating every 5 minutes.

up until this week i wasn't feeling very sick at all. the last couple of days though have been a little rough. if i eat anything that's too sweet, i'm down for the count. adam and i went for a walk yesterday. it wasn't very long and was one of our usual routes. about half way through it, right above my tail bone and in between my hips started hurting so bad i could hardly walk. i couldn't even stand up straight, i had to hunch a little. it looked rediculous i'm sure. it even got to the point that adam asked if i wanted him to go get the car while i waited. which was a very sweet offer but i didn't want to give up that easily. so i hobbled all the way home, sometimes crying out because it hurt...really i should have given up. it's not so bad now.

today we went swimming at the silverton reservoir with cody and scott. it was a beautiful day and the water was perfect. we were out there for a few hours, long enough to get a sunburn. i now have a farmers tan and adams shoulders look like they are going to be super painful in the next day or two.

  1. YAY a blog update!! :D Everytime you refer to the baby, I get suuuuper excited!!! I know what you mean about the coochie ultrasound..but don't you think it was a LITTLE worth it to see your little jellybean?? haha. Dont worry, you're next ultrasound should be on top your belly! lol..Take it as a blessing that sweets make you nauseous!! I lost 8 pounds in the first couple months because sweets (especially soda) made me GAG!.. Here are things that helped my nausea, maybe they will work for you:
SOUR things for sure..I would eat a lemon like an orange.. DELISH!
Bananas! They have a special something inside them that helps your nausea.
Pickles ofcoarse! The vinegar settles the acid in your tummy that causes nausea.
LOTS of creamy soups, such as, jason's deli's broc and cheese(remember these times? yum!!) OR like potato cheese soup always helped me out.
Anyway, just things that were carby too helped fill me up to not feel like soo much crap.
I hope I'm not one of those annoying girls that is filling you with advice you don't want! feel free to stop me at anytime! haha. I'm SOOO happy for you two!!
